Charter guide
A catamaran is the most comfortable way to put a big group on the water here. Two hulls, a wide deck and almost no roll.
The Caicos Bank is shallow, and a catamaran's shallow draft lets it get closer to the sandbars than a deep hulled yacht. The twin hulls also cut the rolling motion that makes guests uncomfortable, which matters when you have children or anyone prone to seasickness aboard.
The deck space is the other advantage. Thirty people can spread across a shaded lounge, a dining area and an open sun deck without anyone feeling crowded.
Catamarans move at a relaxed pace, so the itinerary is built around fewer, longer stops rather than a fast circuit. A typical full day is the barrier reef, a sandbar swim, then a long stop at Half Moon Bay or Fort George Cay.
Bar service and catering are available on request, which is why the catamaran is the standard pick for birthdays and bachelorette charters.
Choose the catamaran for groups above twelve, for comfort and for celebrations. Choose a powerboat if there are six of you and you want to cover as much distance as possible in a half day.
