Where Boat Charters Depart in Providenciales
Three marinas handle almost every private charter on Provo. Knowing which one you are leaving from saves a stressful morning.
Blue Haven Marina, Leeward
The main departure point for yachts and catamarans on the east end. It is the closest marina to the Caicos Cays, so charters heading to Little Water Cay, Water Cay and Fort George Cay leave from here. Around fifteen minutes from most Grace Bay hotels, with parking and a restaurant on site.
Turtle Cove Marina
Central to Providenciales and convenient to the middle of Grace Bay. Powerboats and day cruisers use it often, and it gives quick access to the north shore reef and the run west toward Sapodilla Bay and Chalk Sound.
Leeward Going Through
The channel at the eastern tip of the island. Small boats load here for quick runs to the cays. It is the shortest crossing to Iguana Island but the channel can run fast on a tide change, so departure times are set around it.
What to bring
Arrive fifteen minutes early. Boats leave on schedule because tide and wind do not wait.
- •Reef safe sunscreen. Regular sunscreen damages the reef.
- •A towel and a cover up. Sun on the water is stronger than on the beach.
- •Cash for the crew gratuity.
- •A dry bag or ziplock for phones.
- •Motion sickness tablets taken before boarding, not after.
