Half Day vs Full Day Boat Charter in Turks & Caicos
Both are private, both leave from Providenciales. The difference is how much of the Caicos Cays you actually see.
The half day charter
A half day runs roughly three to four hours and usually leaves in the morning when the water is calmest. The standard route is the barrier reef for snorkelling, Little Water Cay for the rock iguanas, then a swim stop on a sandbar before heading back.
It is the right choice if you have young children, a cruise ship schedule, a spa or dinner reservation later, or you simply want a taste of the water without giving up the whole day.
The full day charter
A full day runs six to eight hours and adds distance. Half Moon Bay for a long lunch stop, Fort George Cay, sometimes Water Cay or the run south to French Cay on a yacht.
You get more swim time, a proper beach stop and far less rushing between locations. Groups celebrating something, or anyone who wants a full lunch on a deserted beach, should book the full day.
Which to choose
Choose a half day for value, small children, or a packed itinerary. Choose a full day for celebrations, larger groups, and anyone who wants Half Moon Bay rather than only the reef.
If the forecast shows wind on the north shore, a full day gives the captain more room to move the route to sheltered water. Half day trips in windy weather can feel short.
