What a Boat Charter Costs in Turks & Caicos
Charter pricing here is quoted per boat, not per person. These are the factors that move the number.
What you are paying for
A private charter price covers the vessel, the captain and crew, fuel for the standard route, snorkel gear, ice and water. The vessel itself is the biggest variable: a powerboat for eight people and a crewed yacht for twenty are not in the same range.
Because the quote is per boat, the cost per person falls sharply as your group grows. A charter that looks expensive for two is often the best value option for eight.
What moves the price
Ask about these before you compare two quotes, because operators do not always include the same things.
- •Half day versus full day, and any extra hours beyond the standard window.
- •Season. December through April and holiday weeks price higher than the slow season.
- •Distance. French Cay and West Caicos burn more fuel than a Caicos Cays route.
- •Catering, bar service and chef service on the larger vessels.
- •National park fees where the route enters a protected area.
- •Customary crew gratuity, usually 15 to 20 percent.

- Private charters are priced per boat. Shared group tours are priced per person, which is why private charters get cheaper per head as your group grows.
- Do I have to pay to get a quote?

- Should I tip the crew?
- Yes, a gratuity of 15 to 20 percent is customary in Turks & Caicos and is not usually included in the quoted price.
